My 9 key takeaways:
Models Will Get Better and if We Do That We Will Crush You
Our models are on a good trajectory of improvement.
Today’s shortcomings will be taken care of by future generations.
If your business focuses on patching those shortcomings today, you will likely be irrelevant in the future.
Was Masa Right to Suggest $9TN of Value Created by AI
The economic value from no-code software agents will be insane once we unlock it.
Healthcare & education are both $TN industries that AI could tackle.
The value creation will be there.
How Does AI Change SaaS Based Pricing
We will likely move away from charging per seat.
AI companies still charge based on the amount of compute.
Companies will buy an amount of GPUs that are constantly solving problems for them.
The Most Exciting Agent Use Case
They will act like a smart senior coworker.
They can collaborate on projects or work on a 2-week task by itself.
They will occasionally ping you for questions & come back with a finished product.
What Is Sam Most Proud of With OpenAI and Why Human Talent Is Wasted Often
Our repeated ability to do something completely new & unproven.
Many organizations talk about this but do not do it.
A lot of human talent is wasted because of this culture.
Why the Transistor Is the Best Analogy for AI
It was a breakthrough in physics with incredible scaling properties.
It lifted the world economy & transformed the tech industry.
BUT we don’t think about products as “transistor-based.”
What Would Sam Altman Build Today if He Was Starting From Scratch
I'd build any AI-enabled vertical.
It could be AI tutors, AI lawyers, and AI CAD engineers.
A 100x improvement from our models will benefit them.
Is the Best Way to Build a Mega Company Is With Under 30s?
We want people in their 20s who are insanely talented & bring fresh perspectives.
We also want senior people who could design extremely complicated infrastructures.
You need to have a mix & an extremely high talent bar for people of any age.
Who Does Sam Altman Most Respect in AI Today
The Cursor team is doing incredible work.
The experience & value they delivered using AI is remarkable.
A lot of people couldn’t put the pieces together.
